The company has certifications such as the “Fair Trade” seals of the Sustainable Alliance for Fair Trade (FairTSA, in its abbreviation in English) and Pesticide Free, which guarantees that there is no use of pesticides.
Castanhal's production is also certified by BCS, an independent certifier of ecological products based in Germany. The BCS seal – recognized throughout Europe, the USA and Japan – guarantees that Castanhal's jute products are compatible with the precepts of organic agriculture.
