This school located in the heart of South Lebanon falls, like other institutions of the network of French Secular Mission in Lebanon and the world, in the tradition of republican secularism. It endorsed the pedagogy of the encounter between two cultures, dear to the MLF, without any spirit of domination of one over the other, as well as its motto: "two cultures, three languages." To build it, strong wills converged:
That the Lebanese authorities have made available to the MLF extensive grounds.
That of the French authorities that financed and still fund the post of head of school and participating in the recruitment of French tenured staff.
That of the French Secular Mission who took over the entire building and manages the property.
Opened in 1997, the school now hosts more than 700 students from Nursery to the Terminal. The approval of the elementary school by the Ministry of Education dated 08.19.1998, the college classes and high school 24/01/2005. It is this approval that guarantees education fully compliant with the requirements of the French authorities. The property is a flat pedagogical form of teaching "French." It is also for this teaching and its values that many students join Habbouche from French-speaking countries in Africa, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Gabon, to continue their education or even finish. Today, those who choose to extend their studies in France are becoming more numerous. Finally, the school, in conjunction with the French Cultural Center in Nabatieh is intended to be a point of support to the educational cooperation policy in Lebanon and a place of culture open to its environment.
