أَبُو اَلْعَلَاءِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَلْقُضَاعِي اَلتَّنُوخِي اَلْمَعَرِّي الشهير اختصارًا بِـ«أَبِي اَلْعَلَاءْ اَلْمَعَرِّي» هو شاعرٌ ومُفكِّر ونحويّ وأديب وفيلسوف من كبار أعلام الحضارة الإسلاميَّة عُمومًا وأحد أعظم شُعراء العرب والعربيَّة خُصُوصًا. He was born and died in Ma'arat al-Nu'man, from the works of Aleppo, north of the Levant, and was attributed to it. He became "Al-Ma'arri", and he was prolific in literature and poetry, abundant in knowledge, extremely knowledgeable in language, and skilled in grammar. He lived most of his life during the second Abbasid era, known as the "era of Turkish influence", which witnessed several political turmoil as a result of the weakness of the caliphs' authority and the tyranny of Turkish leaders in the matter, and the state's transition from a centralized system of government to decentralization, and these conditions were reflected in his literature and poetry.
