It's simple really - swipe the screen in the direction you want the ball to go, get the timing right and all sorts of things are possible!
Keep an eye on the service power meter when its your turn to serve - now should you go for a boomer or maybe something a little softer and slower to get that point?
Random power ups will appear - hit them and see what happens!
Play through a vast selection different tournaments and if you are lucky (or skilful) enough to win, you get to play a bonus round at the end of each tourney - so good luck.
