The May.JeuxPédago site was developed by the Émanciper Mayotte association in partnership with the company "Le Sud Test". The purpose of the tool is to offer a solution to combat the low educational level of Mahoran students. The Émanciper Mayotte association was created in June 2017 by young people, for young people in order to promote successes in mobility. Each year nearly 2,000 graduates leave Mayotte for a mobility study in Reunion or in mainland France. The failure rate of Mahoran students in the first year is 90%. This high failure rate is due to:
• Wrong orientation
• Low educational level
• A low level of French and general culture
• A lack of preparation in the procedures relating to a further study in mobility (administrative procedures, grant application, accommodation search, transport solution, etc.)
• Difficulty integrating largely due to a cultural difference
May.JeuxPédago is a tool to allow an accelerated review of the school curriculum from CP to 12th grade. It is a tool for resuming the school program in the form of games. We made this choice because we are convinced that it is a solution to fight against:
• Dropping out of school
• The low level of education and general culture of the students
• The digital divide
• The ignorance of the cultural and tourist heritage of Mayotte.
"A game is a weak barrier of entry and a strong barrier of exit" dixit Idriss Aberkane
We thought of offering games to improve the learning of young people in order to make success within everyone's reach.
