Geography is the study of the location as well as similarities and differences (variations) over the spatial physical phenomena, and man on the earth's surface. The word derives from the Greek namely GEO ("Earth"), and graphein ("writing" or "explain").
Geography is also the title of historical books on this subject, notably the Geographia Klaudios Ptolemy (second century).
