The HETICA application consists of a free non-profit application, without advertising and without purchases, whose intention is to support the organization and performance of daily study tasks in people with Asperger syndrome, although it can be used with people with different degrees of ASD (autism spectrum disorders), but always under the supervision of specialists, parents or guardians and in the exercise of exclusively personal or domestic activities.
This application has been financed and developed within the project called "HETICA: An ICT Tool for the organization of school tasks in people with Asperger's syndrome", corresponding to the V edition of the Galileo Plan for Innovation and Transfer of the University of Córdoba, modality IV, UCO-SOCIAL-INNOVA projects, with the collaboration of Obra Social la Caixa.
HETICA has also had the collaboration of the Asociación Autismo Córdoba, located in Córdoba, Spain, and the work team is made up of professionals from different disciplines (teachers, computer engineers, psychologists). You can consult the website associated with the project at https://www.uco.es/ayrna/teaprojects/
This project has had the following duration: July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020, so a priori no subsequent maintenance will take place. Keep in mind that it is a non-profit project, in which the work team has not obtained any economic benefit and is not professionally dedicated to the development and maintenance of applications for mobile devices. The authors of the HETICA application have developed this application in order to support people with ASD in their integration into society, hoping that it will be useful and contributing "a grain of sand" more to this type of cause.
The application presents the following functionalities distributed in several modules:
- Sample of advice on the organization of the workspace and on study techniques.
- Organization, depending on the difficulty and affinity of the student, of a working time to be used for each subject and in which they must concentrate on it. That time will emit an end reminder or you can even pause and resume depending on the configuration you make.
- Possibility of timing for a single subject, for cases in which the student has already become familiar with the app and wants to start studying something specific directly.
- Advice on organizing the environment in which you have been working and preparing the backpack for the next day.
- Configuration module by the father, mother, tutor or specialist, so that tasks or subjects, default times, rest, possibility of stops, early completion, etc. can be managed.
- Storage and consultation of the study history used in each subject.
- Arrangement of management and configuration elements in such a way that they cannot be easily activated by students and do not distract them from study and concentration (activation by long pressing on said configuration elements).
- IMPORTANT: To access the application's previous settings (black icons and gear wheel), keep them pressed for a few seconds.
