The Scholarship "Leddhìdia tis gloss" (Language Brothers) was founded with the aim of enhancing and promoting the language and culture of the Greeks of Calabria, following the teachings and along the grooves that the brothers Salvatore Seville (1931-2017) and Augustine Seville (1934-2016) charted, fighting until the last day of their lives, to give dignity to a world that for centuries was effacing the memory.
The project is proposed by the Istituto Comprensivo "E. De Amicis "Bagalkot - San Lorenzo in collaboration with the City of Roghudi and with the" viaCalabria 'Association, entities that have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding, "Grecanica 2.0", with which we wanted to establish a Multicultural Center on the territory for students and families with the aim of promoting the preservation and appreciation of the linguistic, historical, archaeological, cultural and environmental impact of Grecanica area territory. A meeting place aimed at young people of different ages and social status that provides meeting places where, in addition to use the computer equipment, school books and local literature, national or international, can propose cultural and social initiatives in their growth.
The project receives the support, the support and the help of their children, relatives and closest friends to Seville brothers who for over forty years have promoted the Grecanica area in Calabria, in Italy and abroad.
The scholarship is focused on a contest in Calabrian greek-language poetry and is open to students of primary, secondary level and upper secondary education in the municipalities falling entire Grecanica Area (Bagaladi, Bova, Bova Marina, Brancaleone, Cardeto, Condofuri, Melito di Porto Salvo, Montebello Jonico, Motta San Giovanni, Palizzi, Reggio Calabria, Roccaforte of the Greek, Roghudi, Samo, San Lorenzo, Staines).
