The book “Ma’arij al-Qoub bi Sharh Salm al-Asil al-Usul fi Tawheed” by Sheikh Hafez bin Ahmad al-Hakami, may God have mercy on him, is one of the great and useful books on the matter of correct belief.
The origin of the book is a brief composition in which it clarifies the beliefs of the predecessors. He compiled it - as the sheikh said - by asking one of those who loved him, and included in it other useful issues related to what fascinated the public by diverting their worship to graves, stones and trees.
This venerable book, which received a lot of warmth and acceptance among the students of knowledge and sheikhs, due to its scientific value, is characterized by the following:
1- It is well presented and classified, and it fulfills many of the texts of the Book and the Sunnah and the sayings of the righteous predecessors.
2- The easy method is close to handling.
3 - Presentation of faith through impact and hadith.
4- It contains an integrated conception of all the issues of this science and the pillars of faith in a detailed manner, according to the approach of the predecessors in maximizing the impact and increasing the evidence from it.
5- This book combines the roots of Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may God have mercy on him, for issues that are hardly found clear to others, and what was transmitted from the predecessors in terms of sayings and effects on each issue that is subject to dispute.
6- Frequent quotations from the predecessors and imams of the Muslims in order to consolidate and support the correct belief. To make it clear to the beginner that this pure belief is not an innovation of the later ones, but it is the belief of the believers among the first forefathers and those who followed them in goodness until the Day of Judgment.
7- Its reliance on authentic hadiths, and the lack of weak hadiths contained in it, or their scarcity.
8- Compilation in general of the issues mentioned in many of the well-known doctrinal books, such as the Tahawi faith, the Wasitian faith, the Palmyrene faith, and the books of Sheikh Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab.
9- Talking about violations of Islamic law in an easy way, which makes it easy for the student to absorb and understand.
10- The book combines elegance and strength with ease of explanation and approximation in a scientific and sober manner.
