Healthcare personnel invite non-hospitalized patients, under observation, affected by Covid-19 or at risk, to download the app and use it to answer various questionnaires via smartphone for the detection of some data relevant for the clinical evaluation of their state of health.
The APP includes the administration of the Questionnaire called Modified British Medical Research Council Questionnaire (mMRC), useful for the assessment of dyspnea, which allows you to measure the degree of the feeling of shortness of breath in relation to the performance of common daily activities.
In addition to responding to the mMRC test, the APP requires other information such as the body temperature detected, the oxygen saturation in the blood, the respiratory rate, the heart rate, the presence of cough. These data are collected by the patient and reported simply in the app. For the purposes of data collection, the patient should be equipped with a thermometer for detecting body temperature and an oximeter, which automatically detects the oxygen saturation in the blood and the heart rate. The two devices are cheap and easy to supply. All other data are collected directly from the app, through tests. The respiratory rate measurement uses an inferential algorithm based on the calculation of the taps associated with the breath.
