The main objective of this application is to present the exchange rates published by the National Bank of Romania (the source is therefore the site www.bnr.ro) in a simple manner, accessible to all those interested. As a utility for Android systems (portrait orientation, requires Android 5 or newer), Exchange Rate runs on tablets and smartphones that are connected to the Internet, regardless of their connection type. The National Bank of Romania is an independent public institution, headquartered in Bucharest. Its main purpose (according to the Statute) is to ensure and maintain price stability. Romania's national currency is the leu, and its subdivision is money.

At startup, the program displays the current exchange rates in lei for a number of 32 major currencies, including the current quotation for the gram of gold and SDR. For easy access to all these exchange rates, each line in the national currency table contains, together with the ISO code and the name of that currency, the flag of that country. There are three simple commands available for each currency: bringing the currency to the top of the table, opening a currency converter, and graphically displaying the evolution of the exchange rate for the last 10 days.
