About TARCQualCalc

The TARC Qualifying Flight Scoring Calculator (TARCQualCalc) is designed for use by the NAR Volunteers who observe and record the results of TARC Team qualifying flights. It is intended to ease the burden of making the scoring calculations on the field, and additionally, help increase the accuracy of the computation of the final score.

Given inputs for Timer #1, Timer #2 and Altimeter Altitude, per the TARC rules, TARCQualCalc will calculate: 1) average time of the flight (rounded to .01 seconds); 2) excess/shortfall time and associated score; 3) absolute value of the difference between the altimeter and target altitude; and 4) final score. The computed values can then be copied directly onto the TARC Qualification Flight form.
