About Princesse de Vix

Since the discovery in 1953 at Vix in Burgundy of an intact tumulus, the site and its perimeter extending to Mont Lassois have since been the subject of numerous excavations. The few vestiges still visible do not make it possible to understand the extent and the archaeological richness of this discovery, the Community of Communes of the Châtillonnais Country provides an interpretation application explaining and restoring the princely city in the Iron Age, during the Hallstatt period. Each point of the route offers an archaeological look and a restitution in substituted reality of the site: civilization, town planning, daily life, organization of the city.
The application, available in 3 languages, also includes a geocaching route, audio commentary and expert videos. It completes the mediation signage along the route.
