The emergence of the Ostrava dialect, or rather Ostrava mining language, closely related to the formation of coal mines in Ostrava in the second half of the 18th century. Local staff shafts need new names to express new concepts in the workplace. Therefore consisted of new expressions, transmitted meanings of older household words, but mostly borrowed with new things and new names of nomenclature of foreign, especially German, Polish and Czech from the older terminology.
