A walk through the garden of Winternitz's villa (Na Cihlářce 10, Prague 5). Duration 33 minutes.
The White Picture is an audio walk through the garden of Winternitz's villa - a performance for one spectator without the presence of actors. The narrator's voice from the headphones will take you through the garden and through the windows will allow you to see not only the Winternitz villa, but also the magic-realistic story, which will begin to emerge before your eyes from the surrounding scenery.
The story offers a view of Winternitz's villa from the perspective of a woman coming to her to finally penetrate a dream that won't let her sleep. For her, the delicate details of the garden and the furnishings of the house begin to transform into a surreal world, which reflects her hidden fear and inability to meet herself in it.
"That house looks exactly like the one from my dream.
The plants on the wooden walkways float quietly as in deep water.
A woman stands at the window, watching the garden anxiously.
Things I can't sleep at night.
They live their own lives in the upper parts of the house.
If I stepped inside, I might get lost in the curves of the stairs and never get out again.
But I can't come in, so I'm just going around in vain. "
