Al-Gashiyah (Arabic: الغاشية - Covering) is the eighty-eighth surah of the Qur'an. Meccan Sura. Consists of 26 verses.
At the beginning of the sura, a laconic, elegant syllable that arouses interest in listening, sets out the story of the Day of Resurrection and the events that will occur on this Day. In the Sura it is indicated that people on this Day will be divided into two groups: some will be humiliated on this Day and will be plunged into a blazing fire, while others will meet this Day with glee, rejoicing in the mercy of Allah and the forms of bliss prepared for him.
