About Rumah Sakit St. Antonius Jopu

St. Antonius Jopu Hospital was founded by the Archbishop of Ende, Mgr. Antonius Theisen in 1961. At its inception, this hospital was a Medical Center and Center for Maternal and Child Health (BP/BKIA) with a capacity of 45 beds. Santo Antonius Jopu Hospital is located in Jopu village, Wolowaru sub-district, Ende district, East Nusa Tenggara province. This hospital was started by the Santo Lukas Ende Health Foundation and managed by the Sisters of the CIJ Congregation (Congregatio Imitation Jesu) with the aim of serving the people / communities in the Archdiocese of Ende under the supervision of the Wolowaru Health Center Doctor. Along with the passage of time and the increasing need for public health services, the Archdiocese of Ende brought in a doctor, namely dr. Paulus The (The Gwan Tjaij) on September 1, 1967. From September 1, 1967 until 1970 dr. Paulus The struggled to upgrade the status of BP/BKIA to a hospital by forming a Medical Bureau Organization with the Vikjen Archdiocese of Ende.
