An emergency application is a two-way communication tool developed to improve the quality of information provided to citizens in the Gaza Strip in emergency situations. The application is designed to address the problem of misinformation and the multiplicity of information dissemination channels that negatively affect citizens.
The application provides information and updates from local official sources and provides an opportunity for citizens to provide their opinions and assessments about the basic services provided by local authorities in times of emergency in an easy and simple way.
An emergency application was launched to provide citizens with accurate information related to emergency response in a timely manner, and mainly to provide information and basic services related to municipalities and local councils in the cities and towns of the Gaza Strip.
The application periodically provides news related to the services of local authorities in times of emergency, statistics and numbers, actions taken as a result of an emergency and any change in the form of providing services to citizens.
The application, through the instructions section, provides all instructions and instructions related to the state of emergency in an easy and clear way for users, in addition to a special section for all awareness materials issued by municipalities and local councils of various forms (video, pictures, audio materials).
The application gives users the ability to interactively share their views and contributions to services or actions taken to respond to the emergency through the public participation section by writing text, video or audio and sharing it with users.
Through the Request for Help section, the application provides sufficient information about service providers, their relationship to the current emergency, and their contact information.
The application was developed by the Social Development Forum in cooperation with the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) within the e-governance project in Palestine and the Middle East (INDIGO).
