In oder to build the strongest rainbow bridge for the lovers, the crows need to land in their respective places.
The bridge must be formed three times before the Emperor of Heaven allows the uniting of Niulang and Zhinnu.
The legend said that the rain is their tears when they finally meet each year.
The general tale is a love story between Zhinü (織女, the weaver girl, symbolizing Vega) and Niulang (牛郎, the cowherd, symbolizing Altair).
