The Shade Study application transfers the erythemal UV dose (UVI x time) recorded by the sensor to our servers in 6-min blocks. This app does NOT display any real-time or historical UV data on its interface so that users are not biased by the sensor's measurements.
Instructions to pair a sensor to the app via Bluetooth:
1. When the app is first installed, ensure Bluetooth on the phone is "on"
2. Pair the Shade UV sensor within the Shade app, not via Android's own scanning & pairing.

This app is compatible with both 1st-generation and 2nd-generation Shade UV sensors. Visit https://www.wearshade.com/ to purchase a sensor.
