Based on data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry's National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), the volume of waste generated in Indonesia in 2022 will reach 19.45 million tons. This figure decreased by 37.52% from 2021 which was 31.13 million tonnes. Indonesia also has great potential in the production of briquettes and other energy raw materials from waste. As a large producer of waste/remaining waste, Indonesia has the opportunity to increase foreign exchange by processing waste/remaining waste into energy feedstock or other things needed by the United States and the European Union.
In order to ensure that the processed Waste/Residual Waste that is exported meets the set standards, Indonesia has committed to improving sustainable environmental practices in processing the Waste/Remaining Waste. One of the efforts made is to support an information system for traceability of waste and scheduled delivery of waste, such as SISMADU. With SISMADU, Indonesia can ensure that the waste that is exported comes from safe and verified sources, and meets the traceability and sustainability standards set by the United States and the European Union.

SISMADU accelerates the flow of information on the amount of waste stock at each distribution point so that the purchasing process can be carried out quickly and transparently. In addition, the collection schedule can be known and mutually agreed upon. Collectors and exporters of Waste/Residual Waste can find out the quantity of Waste/Residual Waste obtained from the origin to its net weight in their respective warehouses.
