Soong Meiling was born in Wenchang, Hainan, in March 1897. She went to the United States for education when she was a child and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in the United States.
He returned to Shanghai in 1917 and married Chiang Kai-shek at the end of 1927. After Chiang Kai-shek's death in 1975, Song Meiling left Taiwan to go to the United States and lived in New York for a long time. Before her death, Song Meiling served as the sixth central executive member of the Kuomintang, a member of the central appraisal, and chairman of the presidium of the central appraisal committee.

Jiang Song Meiling (March 4, 1897-October 24, 2003), native of Wenchang County, Guangdong Province (now part of Hainan Province), was honored as Mrs. Jiang, a politician of the Republic of China, the former first lady of the Republic of China, and the Kuomintang of China President and the second wife of the 1st to 5th ROC President Jiang Zhongzheng, the former chairman of the KMT and the stepmother of the 6th and 7th ROC President Chiang Ching-kuo; former chairman of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and the Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, China Director of the Steering Committee of the Kuomintang Central Women’s Work Committee, Chairman and Honorary Chairman of Catholic Fu Jen Catholic University, and the founder of the National Changhua Normal University, the Women’s Federation of the Republic of China and Zhenxing Hospital. He has a great understanding of modern Chinese history and the relationship between the Republic of China and the United States. It has far-reaching influence and is always known as the first lady in the Republic of China.
