The Turkish Penal Code, briefly the TCK, was adopted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on September 29, 2004, on October 12, 2004 by the T.R. It is the law published in the Official Gazette and entered into force on 1 June 2005. Purpose; "to protect individual rights and freedoms, public order and security, the rule of law, public health and the environment, public peace, and to prevent crime".
