Turnuslege book was first published by Lars Aabakken in 1991, and was based on the experiences he had as a intern at the County Hospital of Volda, and the need to define policies and procedures related to shifts doctor's work.
The book quickly became popular among new doctors, who needed a supervisor in the intensive intern time. Since then he has been joined by Bjorn Bendz in the newsroom, and it has come three new editions, the last in 2016.
The last edition was published in 2010 and there was now a clear need to revise many of the chapters. Changes in both treatment principles, diagnostic possibilities and available drugs requires updating of this kind of books.
The target group is still almost finished medical students and fresh doctors who need concise reminders of the important elements under normal conditions.
As always, it will in a little book be simplifications, omissions and impermissible shortcuts. However, we hope that the book can provide the necessary confidence in their own skills to do such a good job that he / she can actually.
Once again we have to thank the expert panel that has undergone chapters along with us, and so secured the quality within the various specialty areas. We are this time also grateful for the opportunity to draw on material from the method book by the medical department, Ullevaal University Hospital v / Olav Sandstad and Dag Jacobsen.
