The project TACNET 4.0 entitled "Highly reliable and real-time 5G networking for Industry 4.0" is the development of a unified industrial 5G communications system that makes advanced communications solutions for the industrial application 4.0 usable. Aim is to integrate the fifth generation mobile networks consistently in industrial communication networks.
For this purpose it is necessary to solve different research questions such as: How can countless machines, robots and other IT systems in a confined space failsafe, communicate wirelessly with high data rates and without delay? How can existing systems be migrated? An important aspect is the management of the network. This is including the initiation and maintenance of many simultaneous wireless connections. It must be able to respond quickly to changes and automatically perform complex configurations of the radio access node in the background. In addition, project processes are explored, such as control and management functions can be outsourced to the cloud. Automation systems communicate with this in real time. For example, maintenance processes of machinery and equipment can be made more demand-oriented and forward-looking.
