In the middle of the Urdenbacher Kämpe between Düsseldorf and Monheim am Rhein lies the former Roman fort Haus Bürgel, which was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in 2021 as part of the Lower Germanic Limes. In addition to a biological station and the Reuter family's cold blood horse breeding, the historic estate is now home to a Roman museum with a permanent exhibition and an outdoor archaeological path.
