About S.A.M. LMU

The self-monitoring app for employee health (S.A.M.) is part of the PREPARED joint research project of the LMU Klinikum (Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy) and the University Medical Center Mainz (Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy & Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy). PREPARED is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) (funding code: 01KX2121) as part of the University Medicine Network (NUM) and is under the overall project management of Prof. Dr. Jochen Schmitt and Prof. Dr. Simon Scheithauer.
The scientists of the study have set themselves the goal of giving employees of clinics in Germany the opportunity to monitor their mental health at the end of or after the COVID-19 pandemic. This should help to be able to record and evaluate the mental health of employees in clinics in a timely manner in the event of a future health crisis or disaster.
In addition, the study pursues other scientific questions. These include, for example, the questions of how people cope with stressful living conditions and stress over a longer period of time in order to draw conclusions about possible risk factors and interventions. In particular, the burnout factor as a work-related stress characteristic is to be examined and preventive factors (e.g. self-efficacy or social support) are to be analyzed for avoidance. The aim of the study is to identify characteristics that protect against the development of mental disorders. Please note that you can only take part in the study if you are at least 18 years old and consent to your data being used for the purposes described above.
