The City Council of La Victoria de Acentejo has been making numerous efforts to maintain and improve a primary sector, in which wine production is defined as strategic for the entire local economy. All our proposals are aimed at promoting wine as one of the signs of local identity within the island of Tenerife and as one of the most prominent economic engines for the entire municipality.
LAND OF WINES
La Victoria de Acentejo is part of one of the regions of the island of Tenerife where the cultivation of the vine and its transformation into wine has become tradition and recognition. Recognition that began with the creation of the Denomination of Origin Tacoronte-Acentejo as the first regulatory council registered in the Canary Islands in 1992. Such has been its importance, that this DO covers approximately 40% of the agricultural area of Tenerife and up to 20% of the space dedicated to the cultivation of the vine in the entire archipelago.
The vineyards of La Victoria de Acentejo not only provide excellent quality wines, but also provide the municipality with agricultural landscapes of great beauty. To this landscape and oenological offer is added its gastronomy, with restaurants, food houses and guachinches that prepare magnificent dishes of the local gastronomy.
