About Sommerpalais Greiz

Idyllically located on the banks of the Elster, the Fürstlich Greizer Park with its early classical summer palace offers walkers and strollers peaceful relaxation and a worthwhile view of the English landscape park.
The ensemble of collection, palace and park has been of national importance since 2009 and is very popular with visitors from near and far.
From its construction around 1769, the summer palace served as the summer residence of the Princes Reuss older line until 1918. In 1922 a museum was opened in the palace, the Greiz State Book and Copper Engraving Collection. The holdings include the princely court library, the princely graphic collection - including the mezzotint collection of the English Princess Elizabeth - as well as the SATIRICUM founded in 1975, a famous collection of caricatures spanning five centuries. Numerous guests visit the East Thuringian Museum with its collections every year.
The museum app for the summer palace provides unsurpassable insights into the rooms and the history of the early classical palace.
Embark on an informative and insightful tour of the Summer Palace and its collections.
