This android application is an electronic school book of Buddhist and Budi Pekerti Religious Education for the revised edition of the 7th grade junior high school students.
The 2013 curriculum is designed as a vehicle to deliver students towards mastery of attitudes, knowledge, and skills competencies. This approach is in line with the view in Buddhism that learning is not only to know and remember (pariyatti), but also to carry out (patipatti), and achieve a breakthrough (pativedha). "A person reads a lot of scriptures, but does not act according to teachings, a person who is careless is like a shepherd who counts other people's cows, he will not benefit from the holy life." (Dhp.19).
To ensure the balance and integrity of the three domains, religious education needs to be given special emphasis related to the formation of character, that is a person's attitude or behavior in relation to oneself, family, community and nation, and the natural surroundings.
Hopefully this android application can make it easier for Middle School 7th grade students to learn Buddhism and Human Rights anywhere and anytime.
