L'Île mystérieuse is a novel by Jules Verne, published in 1875. It relates the adventures of five characters and a dog who, fleeing the siege of Richmond during the Civil War, ran aground on an unknown island that they christen Lincoln Island. Using their varied skills and cunning, they strive to rebuild a comfortable life on this desert island, but they face several perils and strange phenomena. To a lesser extent, the novel is an extension of the novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and The Children of Captain Grant, some secondary characters from these novels.
