The application is also supported by texts and images, to offer users a wider and more detailed use of the contents and allow an independent visit to two rooms of the cave.
It is advisable to download the App before the visit, both to prepare adequately for the discovery of the cave-church, and to avoid any overloads on the Wi-Fi network available on site.

The cave is located in the Natisone Valleys, a territory of particular cultural and historical importance in Friuli, on the border with Slovenia, located between two places of exceptional tourist interest: Cividale del Friuli, city of art and UNESCO heritage, and the Upper Soča Valley, Slovenia.
Due to its characteristics, the cave constitutes a unique site in this part of Italy and Europe: a concentration of nature, history, art, myths and legends, of great naturalistic and cultural interest.

The visit and the audio guide are divided into three areas:
1) OUTDOOR. The cave-church can be reached with a short and suggestive walk in the woods. Access to the rock system of the church-fortress takes place via a staircase of 86 steps and projects us into a spectacular medieval complex, an eagle's nest overhanging a limestone cliff, from which a panoramic view of the Valle del Natisone.
2) CHURCH. The church, still consecrated, offers historical-artistic testimonies from the Lombard period, with Roman reminiscences, to the Gothic, to the Baroque period, with fragments of frescoes and symbols that bear witness to a long transition phase between paganism and Christianity, full of enigmas and mysteries still being investigated by scholars. Flanked by the "Lombard loggia" is the artistic masterpiece of the cave-church: the late Gothic chapel of Saints John the Baptist and the Evangelist, created by "Maister Andre von Lach" with the help of the sculptor Jacob.
3) CAVE. The tourist-naturalistic route, accessible only with guides, winds its way safely and with protective helmets, for about three hundred meters (one way). It is a small part of this complex underground world, still alive and shaped by water: a labyrinth already frequented by the cave bear, which extends over several levels and for over five kilometers into the bowels of Mount Mladesiena, with ponds, halls, meanders and deep chimneys, and with an underground stream that emerges in a small waterfall at the base of the cave, becoming impetuous in periods with significant rainfall, when the cave is not accessible to tourists (please inquire).

The audio guide, with a total duration of about half an hour, accompanies you in the three environments, with detailed descriptions of a naturalistic, historical and artistic nature, offering you the possibility of immersion in this extraordinary world.
Wishing you good listening, we invite you to come and visit us in Antro. We are waiting for you!
