The Military District Command (abbreviated Kodim) is the guiding and regional operational command of the Army under the Military Command. Kodim oversees several Military District Command (Koramil).
In some Kodam, Kodim operates in the area of the Level II Region, both cities and districts. The Kodim is led by a Commander who is usually called Dandim (Military District Commander) who has the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.) and Major (Senior). But for the independent kodim (Kodim Tanpa Korem) led by the Dandim with the rank of Colonel.
