About Underground Basilica

This project is my first reconstruction, made for interactive visualization, providing interactivity in my projects. Much better texturing has been done, and interior detailing. The structure of the temple itself has a very complex structure due to partial immersion into the rock mass. From a geometric point of view, the model is verified in great detail. Removed all useless and invisible polygons. The textures, though not of great resolution, still have sufficient detail, but they do not correspond to the actual materials from which the buildings in Chersonesos were built. This is one of two reconstructions in which a balance is found between system requirements and picture quality.

In the first version of the program, due to the capabilities of earlier versions of Unity3D, good performance was achieved. To illuminate the scenes, several classic point sources of light were used, whose shadows were baked into the surface textures, to increase compatibility with cross-platform compilation, and low computational power of the target systems. There is a built-in simplified management reference, a hidden logo, elementary graphics settings and image quality, as well as three cross-platform options.

In the new version of the UE4 reconstruction were rethought all the selected materials, as well as the structure of the model itself. All the geometry was disassembled into separate modules in the open editor Blender. The geometry of the module was improved, as well as they received a clean, conflict-free UV-scan, which allowed creating a much more complex and difficult scene lighting. The camera controller has also been improved, it has become smoother and more stable. There were doors separating the outer space from the inner, and here we first used visible light sources, such as braziers and choros.
