The Beverkoog is an elongated 'industrial estate' that was built in the late 1970s in the Westbeverkoog, a polder that was part of the Geestmerambacht. The design is park-like, spacious with many low-rise buildings. De Beverkoog (2.4 km long) is located on the north side of Alkmaar and is enclosed between the residential area of Sint Pancras (municipality of Dijk & Waard) in the west and the N242 and railway line in the east. De Nollen green strip is located between the housing on the west side and the site. De Beverkoog can be seen as the number three largest employers with 3,200 jobs and a spin-off of 1,400 indirect jobs.
