About HIKAI
The Hybrid Interactive Knowledge Assimilation Initiative (HIKAI) is a platform to provide structured curriculum as per the State Board syllabus to all school-going students in Meghalaya as the schools are not allowed to function in normal mode by the Government as part of COVID19 pandemic.
The Ramakrishna Mission launched HIKAI free online service to classes IX to XII from August 17, 2020. Within two weeks the services were expanded and provided to classes 1 to 8 as well. Some of the innovations incorporated in HIKAI is given below:
Totally free service to enrol and access the online teaching
Bilingual videos in Khasi and English for all subjects for classes 1 to 8
Intranet zone created at Sohbar School with 500 meters radius operation range. This allows downloading of videos and uploading of assignments without internet connectivity.
Free preloaded tablets to deserving poor and meritorious students
Teachers and administrators provided monitoring tools to assess the performance of students
Dynamic display of users presented in graphical mode
Online exams and results in e-mode
