Preface

The Qur’an is the word of God, the wellspring of knowledge and the book of guidance.The Muslims’ endeavors to memorize its verses and ponder on its concepts and messages from the early Islam so far has always more than that of others with regard to any other book or scripture. With the advent of the age of information, the digital Qur’anic activities and researches have been focused by academic institutes. In line with this, Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences (also known as Noor Center) has proceeded to design and develop various Qur’anic software programs and applications, among which is the present Qur’anic App.

An introduction to Noor al-Qur’an App

This app was designed to be used in mobile phones having the Android OS, and is at the disposal of dear users on line. Even having disconnected from the Network the users can enjoy the text of the Qur’an, two translations, two exegeses, as well as the recitation of the Qur’an offline.

App Content

Different sections of Noor al-Qur’an App are as follows:

Text of the Holy Qur’an: display of the text of the Holy Qur’an, based on ‘Uthman Taha’s copy as well as the orthodox orthography, along with translation and recitation
Translation and Exegesis: it contains translation of the Qur’an in different languages, Shi’a and Sunni exegetical sources, exegetical hadiths, analysis of he Qur’an, the related verses with three types of relation: Verbal Relation, Topical Relation, and Co-occurrence based Relation.
Subject Index: the subject index of the Holy Qur’an, in two sections of Arabic and Persian with categorization
Qur’anic Proper names and Common names: it contains Qur’anic Proper names and Common names, as well as those of causes of revelation explicitly and implicitly in a categorized way.
Analysis of the Qur’an: including inflectional analysis, syntactic analysis and rhetorical analysis of the Qur’anic verses.

In addition to the Main Page of the App, in which the option for searching for a verse, its translation or exegesis is available, in the sections of Subject Index and Proper Names search for content has been made possible.
