SMICAMIS

The five-year Safe Migration in Central Asia (SMICA) project, funded by USAID and implemented by Winrock International (VI), aims to strengthen the mutual responsibility of all stakeholders in their efforts to prevent human trafficking (THB) and forced labor, protect victims of THB and promoting safe migration. SMICA supports the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral strategies and actions to promote human rights based migration and combat human trafficking and forced labour; reduces the vulnerability of risk groups to all forms of human trafficking and forced labor; and expands and improves the identification and assistance of victims of trafficking in human beings. The Safe Migration in Central Asia project has developed a regional database called SMICA MIS and is available online. This database will be available to all SMICA offices and partners for data entry and will provide data analysis across all SMICA metrics. The system also includes a mobile application that allows partners to enter data without using paper formats. SMICA MIS will ease the reporting burden for partners by allowing real-time data entry for SMICA indicators.
