About The Shepherd of Hermas (audiob

The Shepherd of Hermas is a Christian literary work from the late first half of the second century, that was widely read and well-regarded at the time. It was considered canonical scripture by some of the early Church fathers such as Irenaeus. It is found in the Codex Sinaiticus, being listed between the Acts of the Apostles and the Acts of Paul in the list of the Codex Claromontanus.

The work is made up of five visions, twelve mandates, and ten parables. It relies on allegory and focuses on the Church, calling the faithful to repent of the sins that have harmed it.

Translated by J. B. Lightfoot (1828 - 1889).
