We invite you to the routes of the Zagłębie Women's Trail. Sosnowiec station.
The trail is a modern walking and herstory initiative, initiated in the Dąbrowski Basin in 2018 by the Active Women Association.
The task of the Trail is to restore the memory of the women who
in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, they conducted social, scientific, artistic and educational activities in the region, about which the inhabitants of the region have little or no knowledge.
The Zagłębie Trail consists of 4 routes:
- "A" route - actresses, artists, scientists
- route "D" - organizers of charity activities, teachers, doctors
- route "P" - female entrepreneurs,
- "O" route - organizers of the resistance movement during World War II and the opposition during communism.
On the four routes of the Zagłębie Women's Trail, you will meet 22 women who are committed, sensitive and strong, have left traces of their hearts and feet here.
Stops on the routes are places where the Sosnowka women lived, worked and went to school. They are marked with a modern sign the size of a human figure, with a photo and a biography hung on energy poles.
With the help of the mobile application, at any time for you, you will go on an extraordinary journey in the footsteps of the Sosnowka women. By choosing the route, you will receive information about which players from Sosnowka will meet on the route, where the stops are and how to get to them. The teacher will read the text in Polish and English.
We invite you on a herstoric, unusual and sentimental journey.

expansion of the Women's Trail, inaugurated in 2018, by 15 stops,
preparation of 10 guides on the Trail edition of an electronic publication and a mobile application available for Android and IOS in a bilingual (Polish-English) version
development of lesson scenarios on the Trail
organizing a seminar to disseminate the results of the project
printing of posters and leaflets.
The project is co-financed by the National Institute of Freedom - Center for the Development of Civil Society, as part of the "Fund of Civic Initiatives NOWE FIO for the years 2021-2030".

Who we are?
Active Women Association - we are a non-governmental organization operating for 20 years in the field of social inclusion, civic participation, anti-discrimination, activation to social and public life.
We work for women, seniors, youth and groups at risk of social exclusion.
We operate locally, regionally, nationally and worldwide / Africa, Middle East, US, Asia.
We promote volunteering as part of the European Solidarity Corps.
