About Cyclin Quadrassal

The Cyclin' Portugal-Quadrassal Center is located in the Quadrassal forest, a territory included in the Romeu Site of Community Importance of the Natura 2000 Network (SIC PTCON0043), a protected area under the tutelage of the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) , which covers the Union of Parishes of Avantos and Romeu, the parishes of Cedães and Vale de Asnes, in the municipality of Mirandela, and the parish of Cortiços, in the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros. Two municipalities with a strong territorial identity, which invite you to discover their particularities, richness and natural diversity, but also their strong cultural, heritage and gastronomic values.
The geographical area of ​​the Centro Cyclin' Portugal - Quadrassal also includes part of the Terras de Cavaleiros Geopark, a UNESCO world heritage site and the Meseta Ibérica Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve (RBTMI), the largest biosphere reserve in Europe, which includes municipalities in Terra Fria. , Terra Quente, Douro Superior and Beira Alta, on the Portuguese side, and Zamora and Salamanca, on the Spanish side.
The Centro Cyclin' Portugal - Quadrassal allows for a positive organization of the territory, contributing to the exceptional state of preservation of the natural landscapes of the SIC de Romeu, which encompasses two of the best examples in Portugal of infrequent Mediterranean habitats (an extensive natural patch of cork oaks and cork oak and juniper forests, which are here in an excellent state of conservation), and also to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a high environmental quality of the protected natural spaces.
