IA Panorama is the oldest Soviet and Russian news agency.
Founded in 1822 as the personal courier and news service of Count Sheremet von Rabinowitz. After the revolution, it was nationalized by the Bolsheviks and competed with TASS for a long time.
In 1953-1954 it was the only Soviet news agency to cover the uprising in the Gulag. Since 1955, she worked illegally, broadcasting from the office premises of the Ogonyok newspaper under the personal patronage of Marshal Semyon Budyonny. In 1988, the agency was again officially registered as a media outlet.
In 1991, the editor-in-chief of the Panorama news agency Boris Gontermakher, while on vacation in Florida, heroically refused to support the head of the State Emergency Committee Gennady Yanayev during a telephone conversation. Thus, the publication took the side of the people, who rebelled against the Bolsheviks.
In the 1990s, the Panorama news agency founded the Panorama bank, the Panorama real estate agency and the Panorama-boutique second-hand chain, thus ensuring a reliable entry into the financial markets of Russia and the world.
In 2001, Boris Gontermakher and his colleague Vitaly Mann announced the creation of the Panorama party on the site of the agency. The politicians successfully fought the revanchism of the authoritarian forces until 2009, after which they moved to Monte Carlo and continued broadcasting the agency from there, at the same time opening the Panorama tire service.
Our goals are to remain faithful to the traditions laid down in the 200-year history of the agency, as objectively and reliably as possible to convey information about what is happening in Russia and the world. For regular customers of tire fitting - discounts for seasonal change of tires!
