A community radio is a radio transmission station that has been created with the intention of favoring a community or population center, whose interests are the development of their community. These stations are not for profit (which differentiates them from pirate radios), although some use sponsorships from small businesses for their maintenance. Several community radio stations, in addition to broadcasting via antenna, also do so through the Internet.
