MEGAIbn Rádio is an online school radio, made by young people, inspired by the values of human flourishing and created to serve Well-Being and Citizenship.
It results from the Semear Valores On-air project, an academy of the Gulbenkian Knowledge Academies program. This program aims to promote skills so that children and young people are able to face a rapidly changing future.
MEGAIbn Rádio's main objectives are to increase the skills of COMMUNICATION, RESILIENCE, CREATIVE THINKING and ADAPTABILITY of the students of the Ibn Mucana School Group (in Alcabideche) and, simultaneously, offer them the possibility of being positive influencers, promoters of a greater good -being and citizenship in the school and online communities.
The project runs from 2019 to 2022 and, each year, will involve 4 classes from the 7th to the 11th years. At the end of the project, 360 students are expected to be involved. Its sustainability is foreseen, in a different format.
Students are involved in brainstorming, research, writing, broadcasting and sound design activities and work organized in teams during Citizenship classes, enrolled in their school hours. Elements of the promoting entity -Associação a Vida Ama-me- together with the group's project coordinator, the class directors and the teachers who promoted the previous school radio are part of the team that guides the project.
The partners are the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Cascais Town Hall (financiers); the Cooperativa Semear Valores; DONE! Communication and the Ibn Mucana School Group.
