Created by the staff of vEyes (virtual Eyes) - ONLUS, in collaboration with the Hematology of the Policlinico di Catania and the Catania section of the AIL (Italian Association against Leukemia-lymphomas), the app allows communication between doctor and patient in cases in which the latter is affected by AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) and Myeloma (development activities are underway to include other diseases).
Although freely downloadable from the store, the activation of the app is made possible only by the doctor who treats the patient (in the ongoing clinical trial phase, but this procedure will remain active even when fully operational), by filling in the registration form. and entering a personalized, encrypted unlock code generated by an off-line console. All the information processed on the network by the app is encrypted, and the patient's personal data is not managed , who is identified on the network exclusively through the MAC Address of the Android device on which the app is installed. Only the medical staff of hematology at the Catania Polyclinic is able to trace the patient corresponding to the given device, through an off-line coding system with which it is equipped. This information necessary for the association does not travel in any way on the network.
ATTENTION: The application is a communication tool between doctor and patient. It does not in any way replace normal first aid procedures. In case of illness, always go to the nearest emergency room.
This application is a module of the ARIANNA platform, a modular and programmable open infrastructure, designed and developed by the vEyes staff, capable of transforming an Android smartphone, possibly connected to appropriate sensors or clinical diagnostic devices, into a tool to be used in a telemedicine context for performing remote screening on patients (at the moment, in addition to this app, our redEyes and SABREEN systems are integrated into the platform).
