About Été 42

The evening of September 3, 1942, the great roundup of Jews in the Marolles takes place. Today, few people remember. New residents have packed their bags in the neighborhood, bringing their own stories. In "The Summer 42, round up in the Marolles", documentary sound of Richard Kalisz, the last survivors of the roundup renew with their painful history.

Julien Poidevin revisits this "radio survey" through a soundtrack in the Marolles. The testimonies are reinjected into the public space, becoming traces to reactivate the sensitive memory of the neighborhood.

An invisible architecture, made up of several listening zones, is superimposed on the topology of the neighborhood. Sounds are triggered, modulated during the course according to the location of the walker equipped with a smartphone and a headset allowing him to generate his own urban mix.

The testimonials are from the documentary "Summer 42: Rafle in the Marolles. A documentary of radio creation "by Richard Kalisz.
