About SafeStrip

The SafeStrip application makes road infrastructure, including highway and interurban road, self-explanatory. It provides in-vehicle messages (information) to each SAFE STRIP driver and rider in own language and preferred format, graphically and acoustically.

The SafeStrip application belongs to the SAFE STRIP ecosystem. The Road Side Boards (RSB) collect data from Ride Side sensors Units (RSUs) and broadcast them to SAFE STRIP cloud server. After a decision making process, the appropriate messages are provided to the drivers through the SafeStrip application.

The application presents information about parking stations, railway crossings, traffic conditions ahead, work zone areas, wrong way driving, speed limits and weather conditions.

The SafeStrip application intends to reduce the infrastructure operational including Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Vehicle Speed Limits (VSL) information and toll collection functions, installation and maintenance costs.

Additionally, the SafeStrip application is an added value service to the SAFE STRIP driver. The SAFE STRIP drivers and riders may have additional safety using the SafeStrip application. The presentation of appropriate information to them on time will reduce the accidents on the roads.

The SAFE STRIP ecosystem is required to be up and run to provide in-vehicle messages to the drivers.

The SafeStrip application is developing for the purposes of SAFE STRIP European research project (Grant Agreement No 723211).
