Lexikia is an application designed to help users with communication difficulties such as aphasia, or neurodegenerative diseases that impair language comprehension and/or expression. This application allows the user to stimulate different language skills since it provides various resources that support communication security.
It has levels of complexity to practice gradually, depending on the user's progress and experience, with eight activity modules: nouns, adjectives, mathematical problems, personalized section to add words, identification record, neurolinguistic diagnosis, reports with indicators performance and content update for the modules.
In Lexikia the association of images and sounds with words is practiced, stimulating the visual and auditory modality. It also provides reports where usage and user performance are analyzed.
This application is designed by a multidisciplinary team that includes aphasia rehabilitation specialists, designers and technology developers, to provide user-friendly content. It has been tested by different people with aphasia and other types of language disorders to verify its functionality and user experience. The words that make up the application work throughout Latin America and Spain.
