With its creation foreseen in 1843 by the Institute of Lawyers of Brazil, only 87 years later the Bar Association was created. The act resulted from Decree No. 19,408, of November 18, 1930, signed by the then National Executive Chief, Getúlio Vargas, then raised to power by the recent Revolution of 1930, triggered a month earlier, on October 3rd. The Brazilian Bar Association, thus instituted at the national level, should be composed, among other bodies, of Sections to be installed in each of the States of the Federation.
