Iwo Jima 1945 is a turn based strategy game which takes place on the Pacific Theater during the Second World War. (full paid version). From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011
You are in command of the American Marine force that is tasked with seizing the tiny volcanic island of Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945 (Operation Detachment). The object of the game is to completely conquer this small and inhospitable island as quickly as possible to both prevent the Japanese from using it to detect American bomber fleets and to provide an emergency landing area for long-range US planes.
This tiny volcanic island has been under heavy bombardment for months, and American submarines have sunk most of the Japanese supplies and reinforcements, so this is going to be the easiest and quickest mission yet!
...unless the Japanese have fortified the entire island, dug over 10 miles of tunnels, located troops in the thousands of caves, built platforms to move their artillery underground after firing, and prepared to die to the last man,
"The raising of that flag on Suribachi means a Marine Corps for the next 500 years."
-- James Forrestal
FEATURES:
+ Fidelity to history: The campaign accurately portrays the historical setting and units involved.

+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.
+ Supports casual play: Easy to pick up, leave off, continue later.
+ Multi-dimensional AI: Rather than solely pursuing a direct path towards the target, the AI opponent showcases its ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical finesse, such as skillfully encircling neighboring units.
Welcome to the battlefield, General! Here are two key principles you must embrace to secure your triumph.
1) Unity in Strength: As you lead your troops into battle, remember that strength lies in numbers. Coordinate your attacks by keeping your units in cohesive groups. By positioning adjacent units to support each other, you can harness the power of local superiority. Utilize this advantage wisely, as it can turn the tide of any engagement in your favor.
2) Cunning over Brute Force: A wise general knows that brute force alone rarely guarantees success. Instead, employ cunning tactics to outmaneuver your opponents. Rather than engaging in head-on clashes, consider encircling the enemy forces. By cutting off their supply lines and isolating them, you can weaken their position and force them into submission.
Joni Nuutinen has offered highly rated Android-only strategy board games since 2011, and even the first ones are still actively updated. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming mechanics TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. Thanks for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much faster rate than what any solo indie developer could dream of. If you have thoughts on how to improve this board game series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth chat without the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not sensible to spend countless hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if there is a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will get back to you. Thanks for understanding!
